jumped up and down...I came home today on my lunch break and there sat my shootsac! I was thrilled! The wait was well freaking worth it. Of course I just had to try it on and then take some pictures of it so you all could see;) I love it and I love my husband and and kiddies and my mother and father-in law for all chipping in to get this as a wonderful brithday present for me! It will definitely come in handy!
with my simply, adorable whimsical cover. I just LOVE it!!!

Happy Monday to everyone!

Nikki and Casey {A Downtown/Old City Engagement Session}

First, I want to apologize that I am late getting this up on the blog. I know I said this would be up last night but I felt terrible and went to bed at 7:00 and didn't wake up until Taylure woke me up this morning.
Anyway, I feel much better this morning so here it is...I met up with Nikki and Casey downtown at the Old City for their engagement photos and at first we were a little nervous because well our weather here has been a little crazy lately. Hot, then rainy, then it will be blasting HOT again, so you never know what you are going to get. This Thursday was a little if-y though because it had been very overcast all day and the weather man was calling for rain later that evening, right around the time that we were going to meet up. We decided to go for it and I'm so glad we did because we had some amazing light and ever better, got some gorgeous photos! Casey was so glad that in most of the pictures I told him that his job was to relax, and he said that he could definitely do that! I had tons of fun with you guys and I hope even more that you had a great time with me! I cannot wait to shoot your wedding in January! Now, on to the best part of the post, the pictures...

So. I'm pretty sure that everything I asked for this year for my birthday revolved around photography. Not that I asked for alot or anything, but the few people that bug me to death until I tell them SOMETHING, well that something was photography related. Well, I will take that back. I asked for a small journal that will fit in my bible to jot down notes of my inner most spirital thought and feelings. Other than that, YES everything from a lens cover for my 50MM 1.8 that I lost somewhere (still not sure where), to a journal  to write down inspiration in, to a shootsac (which I got by the way and it's on its way and I am SO excited.) I am head over heals in love with photography and learning everything I can about it and every tool I can get to help me reach my goals and dreams (and some fashionable stuff in between i.e. the shootsac) well I am just so thankful for! Thank you all for the oh so warm birthday wishes! They mean the world to me and they really made me feel special today.

The journal/organizer my sister and brother-in-law and niece and nephew got for me and the oh so sweet card that my niece Gracie made for me. She made sure to include my two most favorite things..A butterfly and a Camera!

Turning 1 is hard to do

So, Holly and I went to high school together and she contacted me through FB and asked me to do her sweet baby girls photos for her 1 year birthday that is coming up. Um, yes I will! I was so excited! I am so happy I got to meet Brooklyn, now I don't know if you asked her and she could talk if she would say the same. She wasn't the happiest with me during our shoot, but I will say Ms. Brooklyn I got some adorable shots of you, so I'm sorry and I still love you;) UT Gardens was where the shoot went down and it was a pretty lovely day. We started fairly early in the morning so we wouldn't be dripping sweat, because who wants a hot fussy baby?!?! And I will say, speaking from personal experience, if you ever need a custom tutu for any occasion "i got the hook-up", just let me know and I will give you a wonderful little lady by the name of Lindsey's number that can whip you one right up. Now, on to the photos...

she is "smi-zing" (smiling with her eyes) but she is probably thinking "could you puulease hurry this up"

OH NO! The cake has been taken away! Not good for Brooklyn! Good thing, though, camera will now be turned to "Off", you get a break. Shew, a long days work for a little girl!

red is OUT...yellow is IN

Real converstion between me and Joe..
Me: So, honey what would you think if I took a few days off for vacation so we could paint the kitchen?
Joe: Paint? again!?!?
Me: Well, I'm tired of the red, it being so dark and all and I'm ready for a color that will lighten it up in there. Come on??
Joe: What color are you thinking?
Me: Yellow??
Joe: We can do it, if you really want to, but just remember the conversation we had when we painted the red a few years ago and I told you that it would be really hard to cover if you ever changed your mind!

So...One coat of gray primer, and two coats of 'Mark Twain Yellow' paint...it looks, simply gorgeous! Thanks to my sweet, sweet husband and well ME of course because I helped the whole entire time;)

Bright, like the sunshine! Happy Saturday my friends!

Cathie + Rand = True Love

I have met a lot of people in my life, but I must say that these two top the cake! They truly made my day. I met up with them at Ijams for their nature photo shoot and it was so much FUN! They made me laugh so many times, especially Rand! He is a hoot! He was doing the silliest things to make me and Cathie laugh during our time there...For example...Cathie brought this blue shaw thing-y and I'm shooting away (it was time for her individual pictures) and out of the corner of my eye I caught a glimpse of Rand with something blue draped over his entire body..It was the blue shaw! I start cracking up...So Cathie asks me what am I laughing at thinging that I am laughing at her and I start pointing towards Rand and the she starts cracking up! He's very silly! obviously! Back to a serious note..i could tell these two were seriously in love with one another just by the look they would give. I can tell that look anywhere;) Cathie and Rand, thank you dearly for allowing me to capture your love and your silly side. I hope you love your photos and will cherish them forever!

one of Rand's (few) serious faces of the day;)

Happy Birthday Jonah

It's unbelievable, but it happens before we know it. our babies get a year older. I cannot believe that my little sweet Jonah is already 2! It seems like yesterday, well not really yesterday, but that's how the ol' saying goes that he was born! I was so excited yet so sad all at the same time! I was excited, of course because the 9 long months of waiting was finally over and he was here...but I was sad because I was here in TN and he and Cara was in NC:( You better believe though, that aunt Christy and mammaw Billie would soon be on their way to NC to see that little booger and YES when he was just a few weeks old we made a little trip to see him and Cara and Of course Isaac;)
See...

Oh the memories......the good and the bad...good=Jonah, bad=me being prego. again...no laughing!!!

But now he's getting to be a big boy, well a toddler big boy and well before I cry I must post the pictures that I took at his birthday party that Cara asked ME to be the official photographer at! YAY!!!!!!!!! Hope you enjoyed the pictures Cara, I love you and your family with all my heart and I cherich each of you dearly.

Happy Birthday Jonah
